Project SEPA and its aplication
Mach, Jonáš ; Schlossberger, Otakar (advisor)
This thesis studies the process of cross-border payments integration with a focus on the SEPA project. Besides the characteristics of the project itself, it contains a description of the development and the current form of the European legal basis for payment services, the functioning principles of the European payments council and an analysis of SEPA payment instruments. A very important role in the SEPA initiative has been played by the banks themselves, for they embraced a common approach towards the subject. The New legal framework should become effective by 1st November 2009 through national adoption. SEPA has so far brought a new credit transfer scheme and partial changes in the cards framework within Europe.
